1. Bonding Time

Cousins enjoying catching up on exciting summer news and relaxing after a busy day at Cragun’s. Believe it or not, when we first started vacationing here, they all went to Camp Cragun’s. Now as they have aged, still enjoy vacation time, but interests have just changed. Fun spending family together time (12 years now).

2. Memory Our Family Will Never Forget

When my youngest daughter was 11, she started a project making bracelets for the soldiers and their families. We visited Cragun’s when she was 13 with several other families. It was a special weekend to rest from making bracelets, but while we were walking towards the pontoons, Jenessa saw a soldier kissing his wife goodbye and before I knew it she ran to the soldier gave him the bracelet she wore on her arm and told him about her project. They both cried as they hugged goodbye. He was later deployed to Iraq and returned safely. Before she retired from making bracelets (she is now 22) with the help of 30,000 students and volunteers all over the U.S. she shipped over 500,000 homemade bracelets to soldiers and their families all over the world. It started with one bracelet given from a young girl’s heart and the memory of that moment at Cragun’s is one our family will never forget.

3. Pontooning On The Lake

My husband and I have been coming to Cragun’s for years and now our grand kids our coming too. This year my daughter rented a pontoon boat for the afternoon and we took everyone fishing. My husband drove the boat and the other adults helped four boys from age 1 year old to 10 years old. They all had fun catching fish, but the funniest part was when we noticed an area on the lake where several boats were sitting and people were standing in the water on a sand bar and this dog was skipping from boat to boat. The kids got a big kick out of that.

4. Summer 2011

Our Cragun’s memory was just before the last week of summer 2011–one last trip of the season. It was so nice to be able to have these memories of my kids. They were so excited about taking a pontoon ride, because they couldn’t wait, it had to be the first thing we did, followed by some beach time. We had the wonderful “Welcome” buffet, followed by the kids dance party in the lounge that we all enjoyed, even got my husband up to dance with the kids. We went outside to walk the beach and roast marshmallows and then settled in our room for the night. We were all sad to leave and would have loved a few more days.
