10 Things To Do In Brainerd, MN
10 Things To Do In Brainerd, MN

A couple enjoys all of the things to do in Brainerd

We asked you what your favorite things to do in Brainerd are. Here’s what you had to say…

Ryan K. – My wife and I discovered Nisswa when we were up there last year.
Very neat town. HIGHLY recommend spending the day there.

Michelle E. – Shopping in Nisswa!

Randy M. – GOLF GOLF MORE GOLF!

Thomas M. – Golf!

Carl A. – My family having fun at Cragun’s

Some other things to do or see that Cragun’s would highly recommend:

Hiking and biking on the Paul Bunyan Trail. The terrain of the Paul Bunyan Trail ranges from flat and open to hilly and scenic. Along the 112 miles of trail there are many areas to stop and rest and enjoy the beauty of nature in Northern Minnesota. Hey, bring along your swimming suit and take a dip in any of the numerous lakes the Trail parallels.

Make sure you stop at the Brainerd Chamber Welcome Center on your way into town to take your picture on the Paul Bunyan statue.

Golf Digest ranks the Brainerd Lakes Area as one of the “Top Golf Destinations in the World”. Brainerd Golf courses includes Cragun’s Legacy Courses, Breezy Point Resort Courses and Deacon’s Lodge and Golden Eagle. All courses on the Brainerd Golf Trail are located within 45 minutes of each other and any of the resorts will schedule tee times at any of the neighboring courses.

Boating and Water Sports – Beautiful lakes are perhaps Brainerd’s best asset. There are over 450 lakes in this area including Gull Lake, North Long, Round, Cullen, Pelican. All of the lakes offer opportunities to enjoy the water whether you choose the quiet solitude of a canoe or kayak, the power and thrill of a speed boat or the party barge fun of a pontoon boat. There are many rental outlets for watercraft in the Brainerd Lakes Area including the Gull Lake Marina.

Fishing – the Brainerd Lakes Area and Cragun’s is located right in the heart of some of Minnesota’s most legendary waters, including the famous Gull Lake Chain, Mille Lacs and Leech Lake. Gull Lake is a 9,418 acre lake just six miles north of Brainerd and is fished for walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass, sunfish and crappies. You can plan to bring your own boat and launch it and dock it right at Cragun’s Marina or rent one from Cragun’s or plan a guided fishing trip with our marina.

Shopping – The nearby towns of Brainerd, Baxter, Nisswa and Pequot Lakes offer many unique and attractive shopping choices. You’ll find quaint stores selling art, crafts, stylish furniture with a northwoods flair to distinctive clothing and toy stores and more. And Cragun’s Gift Shop has special items, from mementos to northwoods gifts.
