Chuck Klecatsky

Schedule a lesson with Chuck

Chuck joined the Cragun's golf team in 1997 within the first months of deciding to build a golf course. A Summa Cum Laude graduate of St. John's University and the PGA's Golf Professional Training Program, and currently a Class A member of the PGA of America, Chuck has been working in and around the golf/resort business since 1994. Winter jobs in Florida at Innisbrook helped shape the early years until the project at Cragun's demanded year round attention.

Chuck has always enjoyed helping golfers to develop better skills at the game, but feels the main focus of his teaching is to help people enjoy the activity and the time they invest in the game more. "Hitting the ball accounts for only a few minutes during a round of golf", said Klecatsky, "so I like to help people to look around, enjoy the setting in which they are playing, and remember that golf is a game and as such it should be fun!" Students of Klecatsky over the years have rediscovered that this game we play is and is supposed to be fun. Another delight to Chuck is developing better short games with his students. "I feel anyone can develop a good putting and chipping style and this can lead to more enjoyment of the game. A good short game allows you to not put so much pressure on your iron game, because you know even if you do not hit it right next to the pin you have the skills to get the ball up and down." Teaching with a variety of golf schools, as well as being a certified Troon instructor, and a certified Mizuno clubfitter, all have been influences that have shaped Klecatsky's teaching style and his love for the short game.

Eric joined the Craguns Legacy Courses in 2011 as the General Manager.  A PGA Class A Member since 1995 and with 18 seasons at Grand View Lodge, Eric brings years of experience to the Legacy Team.  He is a Crimson Scholar Graduate from New Mexico State University’s Professional Golf Management Program.  In his tenure at Grand View Lodge he held various positions including Assistant Golf Professional, Head Golf Professional at The Preserve, Head Golf Professional at The Pines, and 6 years as Director of Golf where he oversaw 72 holes of golf (The Pines, The Preserve, Deacon’s Lodge, and The Garden Course).  Eric has a great passion for the game of golf and is looking forward to implementing a number of “grow the game” initiatives at Cragun’s Legacy Courses.

Eric has had the opportunity to provide golf instruction for thousands of students through various programs including Junior Golf, Resort Guest Clinics, Community Education Classes, Golf Schools, Golf Camp, and Private instruction.  “Everyone who plays the game of golf is looking to enjoy it more so I customize my lesson approach to each student.  Many players are looking for just a tip or two to help a particular part of their game where others are looking for long term improvement that might require a series of lessons and the use of video instruction software.”  Even with a busy summer schedule Eric makes time to play and competes in 10-15 Minnesota PGA Section Tournaments each summer.
