TOURNAMENT VARIATIONS
The four most common ways to organize a golf tournament are:
STRAIGHT TEE TIMES - Group of four teeing off every eight minutes
from the first hole. Suitable for small groups. Suitable for groups
up to 72 players.
SPLIT TEE TIMES - Half of your participants line up at hole 1, half
line up at hole 10 and a group tees off each of these holes every
eight minutes. Suitable for 24 to 60 players. Suitable for 24 to 72
players.
SHOTGUN START - You reserve a 18-hole course for a half day and your
groups start simultaneously. Two foursome are set up at each of the
18 holes and play starts simultaneously on every hole so that all
players complete the course within minutes of each other. This
allows them to gather afterwards for an awards ceremony or banquets.
Suitable for 144 players. Suitable for 132 to 180 players.
MODIFIED SHOTGUN - Also called a back-nine shotgun, in which your
groups start simultaneously on holes 10 through 18. Suitable for 60
to 100 players. Suitable for 72 to 132 players. |
