Historic Landmark and is the largest open pit mine in the world.
The still-active mine is 3 miles long, 600 feet deep and

This is the home of MN's oldest and deepest underground iron
mine-27 levels. The 90-minute tour includes an elevator that
drops _ mile underground, two sets of spiral staircases and an
electric train ride to rival Disneyland. A self-guided tour
includes the drill shop, engine house, crusher and dry house.
