BRAINERD, MN May 13, 2004 - Dutch Cragun, owner of the Legacy Courses at
Cragun's, announced the recent completion of 54 course changes and
improvements designed to increase the overall playability of the courses
for the 2004 golfing season.
"The Legacy's 54 holes were successfully designed by Robert Trent
Jones, Jr. to be a world class golfing venue." Cragun said. "As the
courses matured, we made these improvements to add enjoyment and fun to
the golf experience for every level of player, from scratch to duffer."
The improvements include changes on all three Legacy Courses: the
Dutch 18 championship course, the Bobby's 18 championship course and the
Legacy Par 3 Reversible Course.
One of the most pleasing of the course changes is the addition of a
fifth tee for each hole. Other significant changes include elevating
tees and shortening some carries over wetlands, removing or altering 10
bunkers, removal of trees, brushing out rough areas and grassing-in
roughs on fairways.
Cragun notes that these changes haven't affected the Legacy's
designation as the world's largest International Audubon Signature
Sanctuary.
"The course upgrades make it even more enjoyable for the average
golfer." Cragun said. "The Legacy can now truly offer one of the most
versatile golf experiences in the Midwest, combining top-notch challenge
for the serious golfer with a welcoming environment for those who play
less often."
The courses still offer the same distinctive harmony of premier golf
set in a natural environment of marshes, lakes and forests.
