We’ve had two family reunions at Cragun’s. My Dad was the one who picked Cragun’s and he LOVED it there! It’s centrally located for all of us and it’s in our beloved home state of Minnesota! Our last reunion was in 2000. We rented two of the cottages right on the water. Our Dad passed away in 2002! There have been six more grandchildren born since then and we really want to gather our family again!

I have been coming to Cragun’s for the past six years attending the MN Sheriffs Association annual training. In the past several years I have also brought by daughter Mary and my spouse Julie. Some years Mary cannot attend because she is not done with school. This stay was especially fun because Mary was so excited to come because school was out and she was coming to Cragun’s with Julie and I. Once there Julie and Mary were involved in many activities… paddle boats, canoeing, hydro bikes, swimming and ping-pong. I was in class much of the time, but enjoyed tossing horseshoes and swimming with them. One night Mary wondered if we could go fishing. We wandered down to the Marina and met the attendant who was so helpful about getting us our equipment. Since it was so late he suggested we keep the fishing pole and return it the next day. We walked over to the one of the fishing docks and on the first cast she had a bite. There some other folks fishing on the dock who came over and helped us land a very respectable bass. We had so much fun. Thanks for the great memories!
Where do I start to tell of my memories of Cragun’s? So many to remember. We had a brown station wagon that we would take to Cragun’s. My Father would wake up Saturday morning early and look out the window and see it would be a beautiful day. He would say, Mindy, pack the bags, we are going to Cragun’s. We were all packed up in a half hour and my two brothers and I would play games in the back of the car. When we got to Cragun’s we would unpack and run for the pool. The weekend was full of fun with so many things to do – boat rides, fishing, campfires, roasting marshmallows, just being with our family. To this day, I enjoy going to Cragun’s with the family which now includes wives, husbands and nieces and nephews. Yes, my parents are not only taking their kids – they are taking spouses and grandchildren. We just returned from another great weekend – again!
