1. Learning to fish

My daughter learned to fish at Cragun’s and spent whole days fishing by herself on the dock. One day she caught a nice fish and the people in the cabin next door offered to buy it from her (she was 9 years old). She refused because she said she had to throw it back so it didn’t die! She’s now a vegetarian.

2. Getting a hole-in-one

We have been to Cragun’s several times. We have enjoyed every single trip but, this past summer my husband and I took our two boys and my 14 year old got a hole in one on the golf courses. It is a memory of a life time. What really impressed us is that the staff at the golf course were just as excited for our son as we were. Thanks Cragun’s for such great memories.

3. The Big 5-0!

Picture this…a group of 10 women trying to pick a place to celebrate their birthdays. Some ideas…New York, a cruise, Las Vegas. This was no ordinary B.D. This was the big 5-0.All except 2 of us live in southern Minnesota. The others live in Texas & Vegas. We finally came to our senses. The 2 out-of-state wanted some good old Minnesota summer weather and they could also see some family while in the area. The others just wanted a easy way to be together w/o the hassle of flying, etc. and “Up North’ just made sense. We put a couple of the girls on a mission to find the best place. Cragun’s filled the bill!

We went last August. That Minnesota weather was in full force as we had a nice variety of weather. Almost turned the fireplace on one day. Instead we went shopping and out to eat. We also filled our days with swimming, boating, etc. I also made a homemade Jeopardy game based upon trivia about us. We have a lot of memories as some of us have known each other since we were 4. The others since elementary school.

It was a wonderful time with “old” friends. Making memories is what we do best. Staying connected isn’t always easy but it’s worth the effort to make it happen. We’d LOVE to be invited back.

Should I start a new Jeopardy game?

4. First Visit to Cragun’s

It was our family’s first visit to Cragun’s. It was a spur of the moment getaway for us. It was by good fortune, we found Cragun’s. What a surprise. We were welcomed with a Sunday night feast and left with memories to last a lifetime. The kids, now older, still remember the parade of ducks. We need to come back.JIM – MAPLE GROVE, MN
