With 61% of the votes, the winner of last week’s “Favorite Cragun’s Memory” poll was “Can We Move To MN” from David.
I’m a relocated Michigander. I have lived out in Los Angeles since 1993. Being the only one of my family on the West Coast, I made a habit out of returning to Michigan for family events to spend time with my parents and my brother’s family. In the span of two years, my brother and I lost both of our parents. Our dad to cancer, and, a year later, our mom to a sudden stroke. In our grief, we agreed that it was more important than ever to keep our families close, despite the many miles between us. We had to make an effort to get together so our respective children will still know each other as they grow up. And this is how we ended up at Cragun’s.
It was our inaugural Knott family trip. His 3 kids and my 2 daughters had such a memorable time romping around your resort together. The resort’s safe, fun, beautiful setting provided an ideal environment to get to run around and be kids together, without having to always have the parents hovering overhead. We all especially had a hilarious time towing each other on inner tubes around the lake on your pontoon boats. We had so much fun our first day on the boat that we all clamored to do it again the next day. Upon departure, each set of kids were very sad to have to leave their cousins, “their new best friends.” I knew exactly how much fun my daughters had when they asked me, “Can we move to Minnesota?”
Our trip to your resort this last summer will be remembered as the first of many special trips our two families hope to make in order to remain close, no matter how many miles are between us.
