Restaurant Chef

Cragun’s Resort, a year round resort located on the shores of Gull Lake in Brainerd MN is looking to fill a Restaurant Chef position in our fast paced, fine dining restaurant, Irma’s Kitchen.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist and support the executive chef in routine and additional tasks
  • Maintain high food quality and presentation
  • Supervise the preparation and service of food.  Assist cooks on the preparation, cooking and presentation of different foods in the restaurant
  • Ensured that all food served is arranged properly and meets quality standards
  • Prepare individual orders
  • Ensure food preparation procedures for quality, uniformity and accuracy
  • Supervise employees engaged in portioning, preparing, and garnishing foods
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience with kitchen operations and staff supervision
  • Hands-on experience in food preparation following prescribed menu, recipes and preparation techniques
  • Well versed in assigning responsibilities to culinary staff
  • Experience with preparing and organizing restaurant meals

Banquet Chef

Cragun’s Resort is a year round resort located on the shores of Gull Lake in the Brainerd Lakes area. We are looking to fill a Banquet Chef position at the resort. The position entails:

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist cooks on the preparation, cooking and presentation of different foods in the restaurant and banquets
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Line Cook

Cragun’s Resort is a year round resort located on the shores of Gull Lake in the Brainerd Lakes area. We are looking to fill a Line Cook position at the resort. The position entails:

Duties and responsibilities

  • Prepares and cooks items: broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.
  • Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
  • Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
  • Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations.
  • At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

Banquet and Dining Servers

First or second shift available, we will work with your schedule. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Dining Room Lead

Cragun’s Resort is looking to fill a Dining Room Lead position. This is a year round position on primarily 2nd shift full time seasonal with part time off season. Must have the ability to work a flexible shift to include weekends and holidays. Outstanding customer service is needed for this position.  $14.00 per hour

Fine Dining Servers

Hiring for Irma’s Kitchen – part time, seasonal positions available. Must be well-groomed and neatly dressed, able to listen carefully, be detail oriented, offer great customer service skills and enjoy a fast-paced environment.

Fine Dining Bartender

Experienced, part time, seasonal bartender for Irma’s Kitchen. Candidate must fully understand the drink menu and wine list, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, able to efficiently operate the POS and manage bar inventory and must be proficient in multi-tasking and managing designated stations. Great communication skills with employees and customers also required.

Bartender / Counter Server

Cragun’s Resort is looking to fill a Bartender/Counter Server position at our poolside Cabana Café.

Vacation Sales Representative

Cragun’s Resort is looking to fill a Full Time Permanent position in our Vacation Sales Department. This position is paid an hourly rate plus commissions and is eligible for our benefit package.  This position is primarily for 2nd shift. Computer proficiency and pleasant phone voice required.

Front Desk Night Auditor

Cragun’s Resort is looking for a customer service driven person for a full time year round Night Audit/Front Desk Agent. Previous experience a plus. Must be able to work a flexible shift to include weekends and holidays.  Shift consists of two overnights and three second shifts. Duties and responsibilities include: checking front desk accounting records for accuracy and, on a daily basis, summarizing and compiling information for the hotel’s financial records, preparing a summary of cash, check, and credit card activities, reflecting the resort’s financial performance for the day, posting room charges and room taxes to guest accounts including guest transactions not posted during the day by the front desk cashier, and verifying all account postings and balances made during the day by front desk cashier and agents.

RESORT SERVICES

Recreation Support Staff

Full or part time summer employment implementing indoor and outdoor recreational activities for children and adults. Must be at least 17 years old, able to work evenings, weekends and holidays and be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Must possess a valid driver’s license, must be First Aid and CPR certified or able to become certified and must be able to pass a criminal background check and a DMV check.

Conference Services/Marina

Multiple positions available, full time permanent and full time seasonal.  Provide friendly and courteous service to our guests, anticipating their needs, comfort and safety. Will be required to work in both the marina and conference services as well as assist in other departments as assigned. Must be at least 18 years old and able to work a flexible schedule. Able to work independently and possess high professional ethics. Position requires a Snowmobile Safety certificate, or the ability to obtain one as well as a valid driver’s license the ability to pass a DMV check.

MAINTENANCE

Maintenance Manager

Maintain the buildings and grounds of a 260+ room resort.  Manage 20+ staff (full-time and part-time) including hiring, scheduling, and training.  Oversee the upkeep and ordering of equipment and supplies.  Develop and implement daily and monthly preventative maintenance schedules.

Understand and adhere to a budget, negotiate with outside vendors for supplies, repairs and other measures.

Responsible for landscaping and snow removal
Execute equipment audits and record-taking policies
Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols

Skills

  • Able to read and understand electrical, mechanical and automation systems
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical plumbing and HVAC systems
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent project management skills

Grounds Maintenance Positions

We are offering both seasonal and year round, full and part time positions.

  • Lawn Care – mowing, trimming, racking, beach clean up
  • Trash Pick Up – emptying trash in public areas
  • Snow Removal – plowing, snow blowing, shoveling
  • Other duties as needed

Must be able to work a flexible shift to include every other weekend and holidays.
Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving recording going back 5 years.
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs, standing, walk, climb ladders, squat and bend.

Facilities Maintenance

Under limited supervision, performs a variety of semi-skilled work in the maintenance of the resort properties; and performs related duties as assigned.

Certification in Pool Operations highly desired.

Duties and responsibilities

  • HVAC,  Plumbing, Fire alarm systems, Electrical, Refrigeration, Sprinkler systems, Electronic locks, Cable TV, Emergency procedures
  • Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement
  • Current Certification as Pool Technician highly desirable
  • Position involves a fixed rotational shift between 1st and 2nd shift with some weekends

HOUSEKEEPING

Full and Part Time Housekeepers

We are looking for energetic, customer driven housekeepers to work full or part time. Flexible schedules and the ability to work weekends is required. Perform cleaning duties to maintain the resort in a clean and orderly manner. Duties include making beds, replenishing linens, cleaning rooms and hallways and vacuuming.
