For 14 years the Oaks Reunion House has been a great place for our constantly growing family reunions. Every year it’s endless fun. Swimming, fishing, golfing and tubing. From the wonderful buffet and bingo to the beach bonfires, there is no better time and place for us than Cragun’s! Thanks Dutch!
We had a family reunion at Cragun’s the Summer of 2009. Everyone had a wonderful time and the accommodations were perfect. Our favorite was sitting around the fire at night on the beach, great family time and great memories, we all still talk about that special reunion and the wonderful location.
Bringing cousins from California together with the Minnesota cousins at Cragun’s is the best. All 10 kids got to learn to fish, swim, tube and enjoy our beautiful summers. And the adults and grandparents did not have to cook! Now the California cousins are going to college….in Minnesota!
A family reunion last year at Cragun’s left indelible memories for my whole family. This reunion would be the first time we all got together for a whole week of fun and sun. My parents had just celebrated 50 years of wedded bliss. My brother, his wife and four kids traveled from Orlando, Florida to spend a week in the glorious surroundings of Northern Minnesota. The week was truly fabulous. The lakeside cabins can’t be beat. The activities kept all the kids busy. Even “Family Survivor” got the adults involved. Now, that was a sight to see! It was a week in which we all hold special memories of and of course, we decided we had to come back. We (all 18 of us) will be together again for the 4th of July at Cragun’s this year. We can’t wait !!!

Seven years have passed since we travelled to Cragun’s for a northern Minnesota style get-together with my husband’s sister and her family (back to his hometown state in God’s Country) It was a celebration of his 70th birthday and a chance for our families to reunite and enjoy time with each other. We filled several cabins along the lake and what a memorable and happy time we had reminiscing around the nightly bonfires, telling stories and laughing, enjoying group dinners together, boating and fishing, playing Bingo, enjoying animal shows, gazing into the star studded night sky, and even being rewarded with glimpses of the Northern Lights.
These all are now memories that have become very special and close to everyone’s heart.
We captured the time in photos and looking back at them the memories come to rekindle in our hearts. What now makes this gathering at Cragun’s so very special is that two of our family members have bid farewell. Our reunion was time well spent and we are now being blessed with looking at the group photo of “our family in 2003″…a celebration of life has now become a thanksgiving for our time together.
